The Future GreenTech Incubator is a 12-month venture-building program designed for early-stage Greentech startups. We support founders in transforming innovative technologies into scalable businesses by combining hands-on coaching, structured venture development, industry access, and research collaboration.

€300,000 non-dilutive Funding
Future GreenTech Incubator offers up to €300,000 non-dilutive funding for selected startups.

12-month structured incubation program, including workshops, bootcamps, and pitch preparation,as well as 1-on-1 venture coaching and mentoring.

Who are we looking for?

We support early-stage GreenTech startups working on technologies that drive sustainable industry transformation, resource efficiency, climate solutions, circular economy, or energy innovation.

Criteria

You can apply if:

  • Your startup is in the pre-seed or seed stage
  • Your company is not older than five years (incorporation is not required yet)
  • You are willing to participate in selected program events in Lower Saxony
  • You aim to scale your technology and prepare for financing

Technology for uniquely identifying components based on their natural surface structure and for digital traceability throughout their entire lifecycle.

A multispectral camera for measuring plant photosynthetic activity, which detects stress and disease at an early stage and supports agricultural decision-making.


Nōva Core

Plasma technology for the pretreatment of tree seeds improves germination rates, growth, and the resilience of young trees, leading to more sustainable reforestation.


ioncentric

A digital platform for collecting and analyzing operational data from industrial batteries and electrical components for condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and digital product passports.


ReVert

Recycling solution for GRP waste from wind turbine rotor blades: A pyrolysis process recovers glass fibers and uses the resulting decomposition products as recyclable materials.


Ligaro

Develops fossil-free and non-toxic adhesives for the wood industry as a sustainable alternative to formaldehyde-containing, petroleum-based adhesives.


Nanolope

Develops wall and ceiling panels using phase-change materials that efficiently store and release heat, thereby improving energy efficiency and indoor climate in buildings.


TreeTwin Cloud

A browser-based SaaS platform that converts LiDAR and image data into digital twins of individual trees and automatically analyzes tree parameters, biomass, and damage for monitoring, inventory, and carbon farming.


Orbits and Pieces

A recycling software that recognizes material values by using a smartphone scan - applicable for B2C and B2B.


Project Future

A payment app that automatically supports climate protection projects with every transaction; free for users and comparable to card payments for merchants.

TreeScatter builds digital twins of forests using LiDAR and AI to deliver precise, tree-level data.


Better Sol

Better Sol is committed to reducing waste in the solar industry by automatically testing and sorting used solar modules.


Hula Earth

By integrating satellite data with its proprietary IoT sensor network and AI, Hula Earth monitors natural ecosystems and provides comprehensive data on biodiversity health and dynamics.


Skyseed

Skyseed combines drones, pelletized seeds and knowledge about forest-ecology to analyse trees and soils to deliver smart and sustainable reforestation in Germany and across Europe.


Caurus Technologies

The start-up develops innovative technology for fighting forest fires from the air, using digital systems to optimise water consumption, increase the precision of water drops and improve the safety of emergency services personnel.


Warden Robotics

Warden Robotics develops mobile robotics and drone technology for the early detection and prevention of large fires in recycling plants.


Lir Labs

Lir Labs built the first real-time OpticalAI sensor for asbestos in water, directly linking contamination levels to pipe degradation.


formorgen

Morgenmaterials is a young start-up from Kiel working on a new process for the production of mycelium products that, in contrast to conventional mycelium production, is characterized by energy efficiency and scalability.


ReWorth

Using local construction waste from cities, ReWorth develops a lightweight building block based on recycled construction materials that are deposited to date.


CircularFabrics

CircularFabrics is transforming the textile industry with its innovative and proprietary NYLOOP technology, which enables efficient nylon recycling without depolymerization.

1️⃣ Submit your application via our form.

2️⃣ Pitch your solution in front of the jury of experts.

3️⃣ Selected startups will be informed shortly after and invited to the Kick-Off Event.

02.

Phase 1

Gaining Track

In this Phase , extensive coaching is offered for start-up preparation, MVP development, business plan development etc. At the end of phase 1, the startups for phase 2 will be selected.

03.

Phase 2

Time to Grow
This phase focuses on helping start-ups to grow by providing support in areas such as investment and financing, product development, marketing, HR, pitching, networking and sales.
In this phase you also have the chance to apply for the 300K grant, provided by Nbank.

About the Future GreenTech Incubator:

The Future Green Tech Incubator offers start-ups high-tech expertise, funding and a strong network for scaling innovative solutions in the greentech and nature tech sector. The Incubator is co-financed by the European Union and the state of Lower Saxony.

Funding and Program Support

Participation in the incubator program is fully funded. Selected startups may receive up to €300,000 in non-dilutive funding after successful completion of the selection process.

The program is supported within the Hightech Incubator initiative of Lower Saxony and funded through public innovation programs in cooperation with NBank – Investitions- und Förderbank Niedersachsen.

For funded startups, establishing a business presence in Lower Saxony is required at the time of funding approval.

Wir bieten im Rahmen des europaweit ersten Accelerators für Wald & Klima individuelle Programmformate an, in denen euch als Startup mit Wald- und Klimabezug, ein passgenauer Zugang zu Mentor:innen und Expert:innen, zu potentiellen Investor:innen sowie Umsetzungspartnern geboten wird. In unserem Accelerator-Programm #accelerate vernetzen wir euch mit Waldbesitzenden und relevanten Stakeholdern aus Unternehmen, Wissenschaft und Politik, begleiten und organisieren Pilotprojekte und initiieren strategische Partnerschaften für euren erfolgreichen Markeinstieg.

Als reifere Startups unterstützen wir euch in unserem Programm #accelerate bei eurer Go-To-Market Strategie. Kern der Säule #accelerate ist ein mehrmonatiges Accelerator-Programm mit Präsenz- und Online-Formaten und dem Finale (Demo Day) beim Future Forest Forum auf dem beeindruckenden Schloss Blankenburg im Harz. Dafür stellen wir euch u.a. ein Netzwerk aus über 40 Mentor:innen zur Verfügung, das euch bei euren Milestones unterstützt, sowie attraktive Partner, mit denen ihr eure Lösungen optimieren könnt. Die Programmsprache ist größtenteils englisch, da sich #accelerate auch an internationale Startups aus ganz Europa richtet. Mehr Infos unten und hier im Flyer.

Unser Fokus

Der Fokus unseres #accelerate Programms liegt auf Impact-Startups aus dem Wald-, Holz- und ClimateTech-Umfeld, die eine unternehmerische Zielsetzung verfolgen. Wir unterstützen dabei insb. Startups der Pre-Seed und Seed-Stage mit einem vorhandenen Prototyp oder einem bestehendem Business Modell. Thematisch bewegen wir uns dabei in den 3 Säulen Smart Forestry (z.B. Robotik), Ecosystem Services  (z.B. Stärkung der Biodiversität) und Climate Solutions (z.B. Agroforst & Bioecomomy).

Ablauf #accelerate 2023

Phase 1 - Bewerbung für den Validation-Sprint

Nach eurer Bewerbung für Batch#2 unseres Startup-Programms bis spät. 04.04.2023 werden wir bereits am 06. April eine Entscheidung treffen, welche Startups dieses Jahr dabei sein werden, und euch umgehend informieren. #accelerate ist in 2 Phasen aufgeteilt. In Sprint 1 validiert ihr mit Hilfe von Mentoren euere Innovation und qualifiziert euch für die Incubation-Phase. Werdet ihr dafür ausgewählt geht es in diversen Sessions mit unseren Partnern um die Entwicklung einer Go-to-market Strategie, konkrete Kooperationsprojekte oder Finanzierungsoptionen. Individuell nach eurem Bedarf.
